Block Sportsbet on iPhone

Fold’em blocks sportsbet.com.au in every browser on your iPhone while the web shield is on, and the Sportsbet app once you choose it in Apple’s picker.

Fold’em is an app that blocks gambling apps and betting sites on one iPhone, and it has no end date: protection runs until it is ended.

Block Sportsbet with Fold’em

  1. Get Fold’em and finish setup. Setup asks you to turn on site blocking and to check your phone for gambling apps, and you can do either later in the Lock tab.
  2. Turn on site blocking. If you skipped it in setup, tap the pill on Lock, then Sites, then Set up, and Fold’em walks you through the four taps in Settings. While it is on, the Sites page counts the gambling sites blocked in every browser and app.
  3. Add the app. Tap the pill on Lock, then Apps, then Add apps, and pick Sportsbet in Apple’s picker.

What Fold’em covers, layer by layer

One site for Sportsbet, measured on 1 September 2026 against the list Fold’em hands to Screen Time and the live resolver at dns.foldem.app.

In Safari, and in the app

On 1 September 2026 the web shield’s resolver, dns.foldem.app, answered sportsbet.com.au with 0.0.0.0, the address for nowhere, so that page never loads in Safari, in Chrome, in Firefox or inside any other app on this phone. Switch the DNS setting off and every answer for sportsbet.com.au is a real address again, so the setting is half of what makes this true.

The list Fold’em hands to Screen Time is ten domains long and no Sportsbet domain is on it, so that layer adds nothing here. In a browser Sportsbet is covered by the web shield above, and by nothing else.

Fold’em’s own block screen is a third thing and it is neither of the first two: it lands over the apps you chose, over a website you added in Apple’s picker and over the Games category if you turned Games on, and a Lockdown run you start can close every app except Phone and the ones you keep.

Their own self exclusion tools

Sportsbet runs Take a Break from the Responsible Gambling section of My Account. A short break covers 1 to 30 days and leaves pending bets alone. A long break is 6 months, 1 year, 3 years or 5 years, is picked as Long Term Exclusion, and cancels pending bets. Once a request is processed the period cannot be ended early, and a permanent exclusion, arranged by contacting them, closes the account and blocks any new account they can identify. A deposit limit runs over 24 hours, 7 days, 14 days or 28 days, a reduction lands immediately, and a removal or an increase takes effect 7 days after the initial limit period. Both articles name BetStop, the Australian government register that excludes a person from every licensed online and phone wagering provider in one step.

Fold’em registers nothing and closes no account. It shuts the app and the site on one phone, which is the part a register cannot do.

Deactivating is reversible, and it is done from inside the app. Sportsbet's help centre article on closing an account, read on 3 September 2026 through the help centre's own article feed because the page itself refuses an automated reader, states that by deactivating/closing your account you will be able to reopen it at any time via our Customer Service team on live chat. Its instructions for iOS start at Tap on More in the bottom right corner and finish at Deactivate My Account, so the app is where the closing happens and the app is still on the phone when it is done. The reactivation article, updated the day before it was read, draws the one line that holds: a break cannot be reopened until its time is up, and If you have permanently self-excluded and closed your account, this is permanent, and we cannot reopen the account again.

The icon survives every one of those choices, including the last. An account decision and a block on this handset are different objects, and neither one carries out the other.

How the web shield stops a betting site A browser asks for a betting address. The question goes to dns.foldem.app, the resolver you set once on the phone. The resolver answers 0.0.0.0, the address for nowhere, so the page never loads and the site itself is never reached. There is no tunnel, and the resolver sees the names your phone looks up, never the pages you open. It blocks known gambling domains across every browser on this phone. THE RESOLVER, FOR EVERY APP sportsbet.com.au where? 0.0.0.0 dns.foldem.app one setting Never reached The page never loads 0.0.0.0 is the address for nowhere. No tunnel. It sees the names your phone looks up, never the pages you open.
Every lookup on the phone goes to dns.foldem.app, which answers a betting domain with 0.0.0.0, the address for nowhere, so the page never loads. There is no tunnel, and it blocks known gambling domains across every browser on this phone.

What this does not do

Fold’em runs on this iPhone and nowhere else: it does not reach a second phone, a laptop, a shop or cash, and it cannot stop an account being opened. This page says nothing about any Sportsbet domain it did not measure. The resolver's list is compiled from public gambling lists that change, so 1 September 2026 is the bound on every answer on this page.
