Terms of Service

What Fold'em is
Fold'em helps you block gambling apps and websites on your iPhone for a term you choose (1, 3, 6, or 12 months), using Apple's Screen Time technology. By starting an exclusion you are deliberately giving up the ability to undo it on a whim. That is the product.
The lock
- You choose the term. Once locked, blocking stays on until the term ends.
- Early exit is deliberately hard. With a keyholder, ending early needs their approval, given in person, followed by a wait of at least 72 hours. The wait is longer, up to fourteen days, if the key changed hands recently. Without a keyholder, an exit request approves itself and then waits fourteen days. There is no faster path, and support cannot unlock you.
- The lock outlives the subscription. If your payment lapses mid-term, blocking continues until your term ends. You paid for the lock; the lock keeps its word.
Subscriptions
Fold'em offers auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly and yearly) billed through your Apple ID. Prices are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings. Apple's refund rules apply.
What Fold'em is not
Fold'em is a self-exclusion tool, not medical care, therapy, or professional advice. If gambling is harming you, talk to someone: the National Problem Gambling Helpline is free and confidential. Call or text 1 800 522 4700.
Honest limits
Blocking is enforced by Apple's Screen Time technology and is strong, but no blocker is absolute. We detect protection being switched off and tell your partner, but a determined person with device passcodes and time can defeat any on-device system. Fold'em is a commitment device, not a cage.
Your responsibilities
- You must be at least 17 and own the device you lock.
- Only invite a partner who has agreed to the role. You enter only their first name; they enter and verify their own email on the link you send.
- Don't use Fold'em to restrict someone else's device without their informed consent.
Account deletion
You can delete your account from inside the app. During an active exclusion term, deletion follows the same safeguards as ending the term early. Otherwise deleting the account would be a one tap unlock, and the product would be worthless to the person who needed it most.
Fold'em also offers an optional app deletion lock. If you turn it on, the app cannot be removed while it is active, and turning it off again starts its own 72 hour wait that your keyholder can see. It is a choice you make, and it is off unless you make it.
Liability
Fold'em is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including gambling losses incurred while using or after defeating the blocker. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes & termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here and flagged in the app. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice. Active locks will be honored or released, and never silently extended.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
