Questions

How do I invite a keyholder?

What happens when they accept, or do not?

They answer in the Fold’em app on their own iPhone, signed in to their own account. Your link, your code or your QR code opens your invitation in their app, or, if they do not have it yet, a short page that sends them to the App Store. Their yes comes back to you as an ask on People, and nothing connects until you accept it. A supporter account is free, so holding your key costs them nothing. If they tap Not now, if you tap Not now on their ask, or if their ask waits 14 days without your answer, nothing connects and you carry on exactly as you were.

What does my keyholder see?

Eleven things, and this page names all of them. Every one of them is a fact about the state of your protection or something you chose to share. The one piece of your own writing on the list is a note you can add when you ask your keyholder to end a Lockdown sooner. The same eleven reach them wherever they read about you, because there is one list and everything they see is built from it.

Can I change who holds my key?

What is a supporter?

What does the People tab show?

Can I remove my keyholder or a supporter?

Yes. Removing a supporter is instant. You can remove your keyholder once your request is answered or withdrawn, and while no Lockdown run holds, and it then takes effect at once: they are told, they stop seeing your updates, your protection keeps running, and you can invite someone new immediately. What changes is the road out. With a keyholder, an agreement starts a 48 hour wait; with none, a request is ready 7 days after you ask. Removing a supporter costs nothing at all, because they hold nothing.
