What Fold'em covers, layer by layer

Two apps and two sites, measured on 1 September 2026 against Fold'em's guided checklist, the curated list it hands to Screen Time, and the live resolver at dns.foldem.app.

In Safari, and in the app

Every name this phone looks up goes to dns.foldem.app for as long as the web shield's DNS setting is on, and that answer reaches every app on the phone rather than Safari alone. It did not cover sportsbook.fanatics.com and casino.fanatics.com that day: those names answered with a real address. Turning that setting on would not change these answers, so on this operator the web shield is not the layer that holds. The Shield tab's web tile still reads On while the setting is on, and it still covers everything else on the resolver's list.

Screen Time is handed a ten site list of its own, and sportsbook.fanatics.com is on it. That is a different layer with a different picture: it reaches Safari and no other browser, and what Safari puts on the screen is Apple's own restricted site page rather than Fold'em's block screen.

Fold'em's own block screen is a third thing and it is neither of the first two: it lands over an app you sealed and over a website you added yourself in the picker, and over nothing else. The Fanatics Sportsbook app is on the guided checklist Fold'em's setup walks you through, so it is named for you: tick, seal, and the block screen is what opening it gets from then on. The other app in the table, Fanatics Casino, is not on that checklist, so search by name in Apple's picker and seal it too.

Their own self exclusion tools

Every Fanatics control sits behind the login, which is the plainest sign that it binds an account and not a device. The page it publishes for Pennsylvania lists deposit limits over a day, a week or a month, a cap on any single wager, a limit on the money risked in a period, a session time limit, and a switch barring a chosen payment method. A decrease takes effect immediately; an increase waits for the old period to lapse.

A timeout can be any length between 3 and 365 days, and the account cannot be logged into until it expires. Self exclusion runs for a minimum of one year, and in some states it reaches every operator licensed there rather than Fanatics alone.

Fold'em has no login to sit behind, and it can neither open a timeout early nor register a state exclusion for you. What it does is cover the Fanatics app on this iPhone once you seal it, and refuse sportsbook.fanatics.com in Safari through Screen Time's list; the web shield's resolver answered both Fanatics addresses with a real address when measured, so it adds no block of its own there.

What this does not do

Fold'em runs on this iPhone and nowhere else. It does not reach a second phone, a laptop, a shop or cash, and it cannot stop an account being opened. It does not cover any Fanatics Sportsbook domain this measurement never asked about, and it does not seal an app you never picked: an app filed outside the Games category is covered only by being on your own list. The web shield does not cover sportsbook.fanatics.com and casino.fanatics.com, which answered with a real address on 1 September 2026. The resolver's list is compiled from public gambling lists that change, so 1 September 2026 is the bound on every answer on this page.
