What Fold'em covers, layer by layer

Three apps and two sites, measured on 1 September 2026 against Fold'em's guided checklist, the curated list it hands to Screen Time, and the live resolver at dns.foldem.app.

In Safari, and in the app

Every name this phone looks up goes to dns.foldem.app for as long as the web shield's DNS setting is on, and that answer reaches every app on the phone rather than Safari alone. On 1 September 2026 it answered fanduel.com and sportsbook.fanduel.com with 0.0.0.0, the address for nowhere, so those pages never load in Safari, in Chrome, in Firefox or inside any other app on this phone. Switch the DNS setting off and every answer here is a real address again, so the setting is half of what makes this true. The Shield tab's web tile reads On while it is on.

Screen Time is handed a ten site list of its own, and fanduel.com is on it. That is a different layer with a different picture: it reaches Safari and no other browser, and what Safari puts on the screen is Apple's own restricted site page rather than Fold'em's block screen.

Fold'em's own block screen is a third thing and it is neither of the first two: it lands over an app you sealed and over a website you added yourself in the picker, and over nothing else. The FanDuel app is on the guided checklist Fold'em's setup walks you through, so it is named for you: tick, seal, and the block screen is what opening it gets from then on. The other apps in the table, FanDuel Casino and FanDuel Fantasy, are not on that checklist, so search by name in Apple's picker and seal them too.

Their own self exclusion tools

FanDuel keeps its responsible play tools behind the login, and the pages outside it give the names without the numbers. The menu lists a deposit threshold, player tools, a timeout, self exclusion, a reality check, a player activity statement, a limits history and parental controls.

Timeout is described as telling FanDuel how much time you need away, after which you can log in only once it has ended. Self exclusion is described as taking an indefinite amount of time off from all products. Both pages say you must be logged in to set them, so the exact lengths on offer are not published to a reader who is not signed in.

That login is the whole difference. Fold'em holds no account and asks for none, so it blocks the FanDuel apps and fanduel.com on this iPhone without knowing whether a timeout is running, and it cannot request one for you.

What this does not do

Fold'em runs on this iPhone and nowhere else. It does not reach a second phone, a laptop, a shop or cash, and it cannot stop an account being opened. It does not cover any FanDuel domain this measurement never asked about, and it does not seal an app you never picked: an app filed outside the Games category is covered only by being on your own list. The resolver's list is compiled from public gambling lists that change, so 1 September 2026 is the bound on every answer on this page.
