Troubleshooting
Something is still getting through, or something looks stuck.
Questions
Why is something still getting through?
Every layer of Fold’em has an edge. Find the scenario that matches what you saw. Some are the block working as designed at its edge; some are a setting to change, and the scenario says exactly which.
- Three layers, three different failures
- A betting site loads in Chrome, Firefox or Edge
- A betting site loads in Safari
- Another VPN is on
Screen Time permission is stuck or revoked
Fold’em blocks apps through Screen Time, so when that permission goes off the app shield stops holding and the apps you blocked open again.
- Why the apps open when Screen Time goes off
- What the app says while it is off
- What happens to your days
- Putting the permission back
A betting site still loads
Open Lock, tap the pill, then Sites, because what that layer reads decides which of these scenarios you are in.
- What a blocked site looks like, and why a loaded one is a reading
- The Sites layer is the first thing to read
- What to do, by what the layer reads
- What this does not do
A gambling app still opens
The app shield blocks exactly the apps you picked and nothing else, so an app that opens is one that was never on the list, or the shield is not holding, and the Gambling apps layer says which.
- The shield blocks the apps you picked, and only those
- Why a new install is not caught
- A betting site opened in another browser
- Adding it
An email did not arrive
Every letter Fold’em sends comes from hello@foldem.app, so that is the address to search for and the one to let through.
- Where the letter comes from
- There is no invite email to go missing
- Working through it
- What this does not do
My widgets are blank
A Fold’em widget reads one small file the app writes into the space the two of them share, and it works out nothing for itself.
- What a widget actually reads
- A blank face is a statement
- Why the count still moves between rewrites
- The Circle face and the seats
Notifications are quiet
Quiet is the default, not a fault.
Read the full answeriOS asks about a DNS setting
That is site blocking, and iOS is right to ask: adding a DNS setting is something an app has to be given permission for, once.
- What iOS is asking to add
- Finishing the switch
- Turning it off, and why Fold’em cannot
- If you already run a VPN
Reinstalling Fold’em
Reinstalling does not end anything.
- What comes back on its own
- What has to be done again, and why
- Putting the phone back together
- If the deletion delay was on
No question in this group matched. The field at the top of the help center searches all of them.
