What Fold'em covers, layer by layer

Five apps and four sites, measured on 1 September 2026 against Fold'em's guided checklist, the curated list it hands to Screen Time, and the live resolver at dns.foldem.app.

In Safari, and in the app

Every name this phone looks up goes to dns.foldem.app for as long as the web shield's DNS setting is on, and that answer reaches every app on the phone rather than Safari alone. On 1 September 2026 it answered betmgm.com and casino.betmgm.com with 0.0.0.0, the address for nowhere, so those pages never load in Safari, in Chrome, in Firefox or inside any other app on this phone. Switch the DNS setting off and every answer here is a real address again, so the setting is half of what makes this true. The Shield tab's web tile reads On while it is on.

Screen Time is handed a ten site list of its own, and betmgm.com is on it. That is a different layer with a different picture: it reaches Safari and no other browser, and what Safari puts on the screen is Apple's own restricted site page rather than Fold'em's block screen.

Fold'em's own block screen is a third thing and it is neither of the first two: it lands over an app you sealed and over a website you added yourself in the picker, and over nothing else. The BetMGM app is on the guided checklist Fold'em's setup walks you through, so it is named for you: tick, seal, and the block screen is what opening it gets from then on. The other apps in the table, BetMGM Casino and BetMGM Poker, are not on that checklist, so search by name in Apple's picker and seal them too.

Their own self exclusion tools

BetMGM's own controls act on a BetMGM account, which is not the phone it is opened on. Its responsible gambling guide says you can set personal limits on both deposits and spending, and that either can be scoped to a day, a week or a month. Asking to lower one of those limits can be done at any time. Asking to raise one takes effect only after a wait, which the page gives as one day for a daily limit, seven days for a weekly limit and 30 days for a monthly one.

The same page says you can take a timeout for any period between three and 180 days, and it prints the national problem gambling helpline as 1-800-522-4700. Fold'em sets none of that, and cannot start a timeout or cut one short. The two stack: a timeout locks one login for up to 180 days, while the layers here decide what this handset opens at all.

What this does not do

Fold'em runs on this iPhone and nowhere else. It does not reach a second phone, a laptop, a shop or cash, and it cannot stop an account being opened. It does not cover any BetMGM domain this measurement never asked about, and it does not seal an app you never picked: an app filed outside the Games category is covered only by being on your own list. The resolver's list is compiled from public gambling lists that change, so 1 September 2026 is the bound on every answer on this page.
