What is the gambling free count?

It is the time since your last bet, and it belongs to you rather than to any setting on the phone.

Updated October 2026

The full answer

Setup asks for that date, and one thing in the whole product moves the count: your own admission that you gambled. Ending protection, starting it again, a payment lapse and a Screen Time revoke all leave it running. The marks along it are milestone days, and a goal is a date you choose to walk toward; reaching either changes nothing about what is blocked.

What it counts from

The count runs from your last bet. Setup asks for that date, and the answer you give is the instant everything is measured from. If you did not have a date to give, the count starts where your protection did.

It belongs to you and not to the block. Turning protection off, starting it again, a payment that lapsed and a Screen Time permission you revoked all leave the count exactly where it was, because none of them is a claim about whether you gambled. The one input that moves it is you saying that you did.

How it reads

Today carries it under the word Gambling free, as days, hours and minutes. Tapping it opens Your goal: the days left to your goal in large type, how many you have done, the date of your last bet and the date of your goal.

The goal, and the marks along the way

  1. A goal is a date you choose

Setup asks once whether you want one, and you can change it or remove it with the Goal tile on Your goal, which Settings also opens from Goal, under Your protection. While you have a goal, the arc over the count on Today draws how far along it you are; with no goal there is no arc. When you reach it, Your goal shows the days you have held and the line Your progress keeps counting, and the same tile picks a new date. Nothing opens when you get there.

Your goal: the heading 37 days to go, 53 of 90 days done. Every day since your last bet counts., a person walking toward a signpost reading 90 days, tiles Last bet 12 Jul 2026 and Goal 10 Oct 2026, the rows Share your progress and I gambled, and Your goal does not end your protection.

The run page, behind the count

  2. Milestones are the days you reach

A milestone is a mark on the run rather than a target you were given. The people in your circle see your run and its milestone days only while the Gambling free run switch in Settings, under What your people see, is on; turn it off and the count leaves their view. What it shows them is a count from the day your protection started, which does not start again when you reset your own, and the milestone days along it: no app names, no sites, no amounts. Your goal is never shared. Whether a supporter is also notified when you reach a milestone day is their own choice, made with the Milestones switch in their own notification settings.

The one reset

Nothing in the product resets the count except your own admission. Your goal carries an I gambled row, and it opens a short sheet headed You gambled. It says what is true before you decide anything: a setback, not the end, those days were real, and your blocking stays exactly as it is. Under that, Talk to someone opens the helpline for your country. The reset is the outline at the foot, Reset my counter, and closing the sheet keeps everything as it was. The reset asks once more, Reset your counter?, and says what moves: your counter and milestones start over, and your blocking and the money you have kept are untouched. Nobody in your circle is told.

The reset is display only. It cannot lift a shield, end your protection, shorten a wait or reach the server's authority over any of them.

The I gambled sheet over Your goal: a person on a bench, A setback, not the end., Those days were real. Your blocking stays exactly as it is., a Talk to someone row and a red Reset my counter button. It has no switch.

What survives a reinstall

The date of your last bet is kept with your account, so signing back in on a new phone brings the count back rather than starting it again.

What this does not do

The count is not evidence about the world. Fold’em can see that this phone was blocked; it cannot see a second phone, a desktop, a betting shop or cash, so it is a record of what you committed to and kept, not a proof that no bet was placed. It gates nothing either: no shield lifts, no wait shortens and no request moves because a number reached a value. A milestone day changes nothing about enforcement, and reaching one, or reaching your goal, is not a step toward ending protection.
