The full answer
Protection has no end date, so there is no instant to reach, nothing to extend and nothing that completes. It runs until it is ended, and there are two ways that happens: protection you asked to end and then ended, or a subscription that lapsed, which opens a 72 hour window and then releases the block.
There is no end instant
Protection has no scheduled end, nothing counts toward one, and there is no screen for adding time to a date that does not exist. How long does protection run? is the page this question now belongs to.
What replaced it is not a longer date but no date at all. Protection holds until it is ended, and ending it is an act rather than an appointment.
The two ends
Protection you asked to end, then ended. You ask, your keyholder decides or, with nobody holding your key, the wait runs on its own, and at the end of it the request is ready. Nothing opens until you end protection, and if you never do the request closes after seven days.
A subscription that lapsed. When the entitlement stops the server opens a 72 hour window and then releases the block. It is the one end that arrives without you.
What this does not do
Nothing on your phone marks protection finished, and no phone timer ends it. Your gambling free count is untouched by either end: it runs from your last bet, and only your own admission moves it.
